How to use accutane
Take Isotretinoin (Accutane) exactly as directed.
Take Isotretinoin (Accutane) with food or milk.
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Side effects of accutane
Side effects from isotretinoin are common.Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
red/itchy/dry/and inflamed eyes
red/cracked/and sore lips
thinning of the hair
dry mouth
dry nose
dry skin
fatigue

Interaction
Before taking Isotretinoin; inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Isotretinoin (Accutane) or any other drugs.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking. Especially:
doxycyline
tetracycline
minocycline
carbamazepine
demeclocycline
oxytetracycline
vitamin A & other vitamins & herbal products.
Do not take any vitamin supplements that contain vitamin A to avoid possible harmful reactions.

Overdose of accutane
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Isotretinoin (Accutane) may make your skin sensitive to sunlight.
Isotretinoin (Accutane) may cause intracranial hypertension, especially when it is taken with tetracycline.
Symptoms of intracranial hypertenstion include severe headache, upset stomach and vomiting, and changes in vision. If you have any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
Consult your health care professional before you start hair removal by waxing and laser procedures, as these procedures may cause scarring.

Missed Dose of accutane
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had :
diabetes
a high amount of triglycerides (fats) in your blood
liver disease
pancreatitis
a family history of high triglycerides in the blood
