Atarax (Hydroxyzine) belongs to the piperazine class of H1 receptor antagonists and may particularly be administered as a mild tranquillizer in the field of dentistry, or before and after general anesthesia.
Furthermore, Atarax (Hydroxyzine) may also be described as a white, odorless powder and an antihistamine which readily dissolves in water.

Uses of Atarax
Hydroxyzine; an antihistamines is used to treat itching from allergies and other causes.

How to use Atarax?
In children, dosage may also be based on body weight.
Take Hydroxyzine medication as directed.

Side effects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.
tremor
seizures
dilated pupils
blurred vision
unusual weakness
muscle/facial twitches
slurred speech/confusion
pain/difficulty passing urine
fast/irregular heartbeat or palpitations
agitation, nervousness, excitability, not able to sleep

Interaction
Do not taking MAO inhibitors within 2 weeks before, during or after treatment with Hydroxyzine. Ask your doctor for more information.
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

Overdose
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusual drowsiness and dizziness.

if you have a medical history wherein you have been taking medication for the same of any nature

Atarax - Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Atarax - storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees C (59 and 86 degrees F).
Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.

Atarax - precaution
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
