PREDNISOLONE (pred-NISS-oh-lone)

Prednisolone is a corticosteroid.

Prednisolone may be described as a white to off – white, powder, crystalline and an odorless powder.

Moreover, Prednisolone may also be described as partially being able to dissolve in water, alcohol, Chloroform, Dioxane and Methanol.

Prednisolone ,a corticosteroid, is used to treat severe allergies, arthritis, asthma, and skin conditions.

Take exactly as prescribed by your health care professional.

Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience :

headache
black/tarry stools
muscle weakness
swelling of feet/legs
unusual weight gain
severe nausea/vomiting
changes in menstrual periods
prolonged sore throat/cold/fever
vomiting material that looks like coffee grounds

If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Prevent infection by avoiding contact with people who have colds or other infections.

If you are exposed to chickenpox, measles, or tuberculosis while taking this medicine or within 12 months after stopping this medicine, call your doctor.

Report any injuries/signs of infection (fever, sore throat, pain during urination, or muscle aches) that occur during treatment and within 12 months after stopping this medicine.

Check with your doctor before having immunizations (vaccinations) while you are using this medicine.

If you have diabetes, this medicine may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine.

Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

STORE THIS MEDICINE at room temperature, away from heat and light.

If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Do not treat yourself with OTC medication whilst on a course with this medication, without consulting with your health care professional.
