Trazodone, an antidepressant is used to treat depression.
Trazodone also is used occasionally to treat anxiety and cocaine withdrawal.

Side effects
Side effects from Trazodone are common. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
diarrhoea
constipation
blood in urine
blurred vision
difficulty breathing
difficulty urinating
drowsiness
dry mouth
fever
frequent urination
insomnia
irregular heartbeat
nightmares
severe skin rash
shortness of breath
shuffling walk
slow or difficult speech
stomach pain or gas
upset stomach
excessive sweating
weakness or tiredness
excitement or anxiety
yellowing of the skin or eyes
changes in appetite or weight
changes in sex drive or ability
dizziness or light-headedness
prolonged or inappropriate erection
jaw, neck, and back muscle spasms
skin more sensitive to sunlight than usual
persistent fine tremor or inability to sit still

Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

medication for high blood pressure, seizures, asthma, colds, or allergies
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Your doctor will order certain lab tests to check your response to Trazodone.
Tell your doctor if you have had a recent heart attack or have ever had heart disease or high blood pressure, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, difficulty urinating, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, or liver or kidney disease.

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Storage
Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture.

Precaution
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.
Do not treat yourself with OTC medication whilst on a course with this medication, without consulting with your health care professional.
