Let your doctor know about all the diseases you have suffered/are suffering from, the medication taken earlier/being taken presently, so that the doctor can decide about the correct course of treatment. In particular, let your doctor know if you've ever had suicidal thoughts,

herbal products being taken by you, so that your doctor can tell you which drugs should be left out while you are on Prozac therapy. Do not take any medication or product without your doctor's consent.
SSRI usage can cause grave or life-threatening lung problems in new-borns whose mothers take such drugs while pregnant. Those who are pregnant, or planning to have a baby, must inform the doctor of their condition, before their treatment with
Generic Prozac begins.
Fluoxetine is released in breast milk, so nursing is not recommended for a woman who is being treated with this drug.
Alcohol/alcoholic beverages should be avoided during the course of treatment with anti-depressant medication.
Should you require any surgery, inform the treating doctor/surgeon/dentist that you are taking this medicine.
Keep all appointments with your psychiatrist and the lab - the doctor will have to monitor the effect of the medicine on you regularly through lab tests, as well as therapy.
As this medicine may make you drowsy, do not drive/operate heavy machinery/indulge in any other hazardous activity that requires you to be fully alert, until you are sure that you can handle the effect this medicine has on you.
Prozac dosage is gradually reduced when therapy has to be discontinued; sudden withdrawal can cause complications resulting in anxiety, nausea, nervousness and insomnia.
Anti-depressants can increase the risk of suicide in the age group of 18-24.
