Uses
Clarithromycin; an antibiotic is used to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body, such as pneumonia; bronchitis; and ear, lung, sinus, stomach, skin, and throat infections.

How to use
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.
Clarithromycin tablets should be taken with a full glass of water, with or without food.
Use exactly as directed by your health care professional.

Side effects

Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions, bloody stools, confusion, decreased urination, depression, emotional or mood changes, hallucinations, nightmares, severe diarrhoea, severe stomach pain/cramps, trouble sleeping
Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:
Abnormal taste, diarrhoea, headache, indigestion, nausea, stomach discomfort, vomiting.

Interaction
Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
If you get severe or watery diarrhea, call your prescriber or health care professional for advice.
If you are going to have surgery, inform your prescriber or health care professional that you are taking Clarithromycin.

Missed Dose
