Ceftriaxone, a cephalosporin antibiotic, is used to help treat infections.

How to use
Do not use ceftriaxone if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.
Take exactly as prescribed by your health care professional.

If severe diarrhea, stomach cramps/pain, or bloody stools occurs, contact your doctor at once.

yellowing of the skin or eyes
vomiting
vaginal irritation/discharge
stomach cramps/pain
severe diarrhea
severe allergic reactions
seizures
pain/swelling/redness at the injection site
nausea
mild diarrhea
bloody stools

Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

cyclosporine
heparin
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911

Notes
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Missed Dose

Precaution
Tell your health care provider if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
if you have diarrhea, a stomach or intestinal infection, a blood clotting problem, or gallbladder disease
if you have had a severe allergic reaction (eg, a severe rash, hives, breathing difficulties, or dizziness) to a penicillin antibiotic (eg, amoxicillin) or other beta-lactam antibiotic (imipenem)
