Uses
Fluconazole, an azole antifungal used to treat or prevent certain fungal infections.

How to use
Take Fluconazole at least 2 hours before proton pump inhibitors.
Take exactly as prescribed by your health care professional.
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Side effects
Check with your doctor if any of these most common side effects persist or become bothersome:
changes in taste
stomach pain
dizziness
headache
nausea
Seek medical attention right away if any of these severe side effects occur:
severe allergic reactions (rash/ hives itching /difficulty breathing /tightness in the chest swelling of the mouth/ face/ lips / tongue)
scaly, red skin over a large portion of the body
swollen or tender abdomen
yellowing of the skin or eyes.
vomiting
diarrhea

Interaction
Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
aldosterone blockers, macrolide antibiotics, quinolines, terfenadine, rifabutin, macrolide immunosuppressant’s, rifampin or proton pump inhibitors,
anticoagulants, benzodiazepines, buspirone, carbamazepine, cyclophosphamide, cyclosporine, ergot alkaloids, haloperidol, hmg-coa reductase inhibitors or "statins", hydantoins, methadone, muscarinic antagonists, narcotics, ramelteon, sulfonylureas, theophylline, or tricyclic antidepressants
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have weakened immune system, kidney or liver disease, or an irregular heartbeat.
If you notice any of the following, contact your doctor immediately: swollen or tender abdomen, yellowing of the skin or eyes.
Fluconazole may cause a rash. If the rash worsens, contact your doctor.

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Storage
Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture.

Precaution
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
