What is lamisil?
Terbinafine is an antifungal antibiotic.
Lamisil is used to treat infections caused by fungus that affect the fingernails or toenails. Lamisil oral granules are used to treat a fungal infection of scalp hair follicles in children who are at least 4 years old.

How to use lamisil
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.
Tablet: Take exactly as directed.
Cream: Wash hands thoroughly before and after each application.
Apply enough cream to cover the affected areas, and do not cover with any kind of dressing unless directed by your doctor to do so.

Side effects of lamisil
Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
fever
diarrhea
dark urine
pale stools
stomach pain
loss of appetite
vomiting / nausea
rash /itching /hives
changes / loss of taste
sore throat & other signs of infection
severe rash(that keeps getting worse)
pain in the right upper part of the stomach
Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.

Lamisil interaction
Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
SSRIs
rifampin
cimetidine
beta-blockers
antiarrhythmics
anticoagulants
tricyclic antidepressants
monoamine oxidase type b (MAO-B) inhibitors
Ask your health care provider if Terbinafine may interact with other medicines that you take.

Lamisil overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
if you have a history of kidney problems, lupus, psoriasis, or alcohol abuse or dependence
if you have a weakened immune system

Avoid large amounts of food or drink that have caffeine.
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.
