Uses
Pregabalin, an anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain agent, is used in the treatment of fibromyalgia or nerve pain caused by certain conditions (eg, shingles, diabetic nerve problems).
Pregabalin is also used in combination with other medicines to treat certain types of seizures.

How to use
Take exactly as prescribed by your health care professional.
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Side effects
Seek medical attention right away if any of these side effects occur:
weakness (especially if this occurs with a fever or general feeling or discomfort), speaking problems,
unusual tiredness/weakness
sudden unexplained weight gain,
severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue),
muscle/chest pain or tenderness,
mental/mood changes,
loss of coordination,
inability to control urination,
fever,
fast/irregular heartbeat,
confusion,
changes in vision,
bloating/swelling of the hands/feet/ankles,

Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.
Do not treat yourself with OTC medication whilst on a course with this medication, without consulting with your health care professional.
Wear a medical identification bracelet or chain that mentions your health condition, a card that has a list of all medications that you take, and the name and contact number of your helath care professional.

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Storage
Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F / 15- 30 degrees C, away from heat and moisture.

Precaution
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
if you have heart problems (eg, congestive heart failure, irregular heartbeat), elevated creatinine kinase, muscle problems, diabetes, bleeding problems, or a history of alcohol or substance abuse
if you have kidney problems or are on dialysis
Do not drink alcohol or use medicines that may cause drowsiness.
Tell your doctor or dentist that you take pregabalin before you receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
If you are planning to father a child, talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks of fathering a child while taking pregabalin
Tell your doctor if you have unusual bruising or bleeding.
