Uses
Aciphex, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) is used in the treatment of ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, erosive esophagitis, or Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

How to use
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.
Take Rabeprazole (Aciphex) exactly as directed.

Side effects
Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:
Headache.
Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness);
chest pain;
fast or irregular heartbeat;
fever, chills, or sore throat;
red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin;
severe or persistent stomach pain;
unusual bruising or bleeding;
unusual tiredness;
vision changes

Interaction
Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
Clarithromycin or voriconazole
Anticoagulants
Azole antifungals
HIV protease inhibitors
Iron

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
Contact your doctor if you have any symptoms of a bleeding ulcer, such as:
vomit that looks like coffee grounds
if you experience throat pain, chest pain, severe stomach pain
have trouble swallowing
black tarry stools

Missed Dose
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Storage
Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture.

Precaution
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
if you have liver problems or stomach or bowel cancer
