Verapamil is used to treat irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) and high blood pressure. It relaxes your blood vessels so your heart does not have to pump as hard.

How to use
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.
Do not take Verapamil with grapefruit juice.
Take Verapamil exactly as directed.

Side effects
Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible:
fainting
dizziness
skin rash
difficulty breathing
swelling of the legs/ankles
slow heartbeat (less than 50 beats per minute)
fast heartbeat/ palpitations/irregular heartbeat/chest pain/
light-headedness

Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.

cisapride
pimozide
astemizole
terfenadine
disopyramide
grapefruit juice
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.

Missed Dose
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Storage
Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F / 15-30 degrees C.

Inform your doctor if you have:
liver/kidney disease
constipation problems
neuromuscular disease
slow/irregular heartbeat
heart/blood vessel disease
heart rhythm disturbances
pregnant/trying to get pregnant
