Punarnava - Boerhaavia diffusa - Pure Herbal

Boerhaavia diffusa is a weed found throughout India. Roots contain the rotenoids, boeravinones A1, B1, C2, D, E and F besides the dihydroisofurenoxanthin and boerhavine.

It was found to stop intra-uterine-contraceptive-device (IUCD)-induced bleeding. It has also proved useful as a hematinic.

The roots, leaves and different extracts exhibited many pharmacological properties.

It is a diuretic, anti-inflammatory, stomachic, laxative, myocardial stimulant, antibacterial and antiviral.

Punarnava helps maintain efficient kidney and urinary functions with its diuretic, anti-spasmodic and anti-inflammatory action, which are comparable to those of ibuprofen.

It is useful in asthma, anemia, jaundice, ascites, anasarca, scanty urine, internal inflammation and as an antidote for snake venom.

1 capsule twice a day before meals with water.
