Premarin increases the chances of getting cancer of the uterus.
Vaginal bleeding after menopause may be a warning sign of cancer of the uterus. Your health care provider should check any unusual vaginal bleeding to find out the cause.
Do not use Premarin with/without progestins (ex: medroxyprogesterone)

Uses
Premarin, conjugated estrogens, are used to treat symptoms of menopause including hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and vaginal atrophy.

Take exactly as prescribed by your health care professional.
Contact your paediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children.

Side effects
If you notice any of the symptoms listed below or any other symptoms which seem severe/persistent contact your doctor immediately.

unexplained weight changes
unexplained headache
stomach upset
persistent nausea
pain
nausea
increased/decreased interest in sex
hair loss
gas
dizziness
breast pain/tenderness
bloating

Interaction
Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the formulation of this medication or any other medication in any other form.
Inform your doctor about any other medication you may be taking in any other form.

Overdose
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.

Notes
If you conceive whilst on a course with this medication inform your doctor immediately.
If you need to undergo any kind of surgery, inform your doctor you are taking this medicine.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding or planning to conceive.
Avoid alcohol and alcohol containing beverages whilst on a course with this medication.
Do not treat yourself with OTC medication whilst on a course with this medication, without consulting with your health care professional.

Missed Dose
Do not double doses to make up for a missed dose. Consult your health care professional about your missed dose.

Storage
Store in a cool dry place, away from heat and light.

Precaution
Non-drug therapy to help prevent bone loss includes a weight-bearing exercise plan, as well as adequate daily calcium and vitamin D intake.
Laboratory and/or medical tests, including blood pressure measurements, triglyceride blood levels, breast and pelvic examinations, PAP tests (for cervical cancer), or mammogram may be performed to monitor your progress or to check for side effects.
Follow your doctor's instructions for performing monthly breast self-examinations and report any lumps immediately.
This medicine may affect certain lab test results. Make sure laboratory personnel and your doctors know you take this medicine.
This medicine may cause hyperglycaemia (high blood sugar). Symptoms of hyperglycaemia include thirst, increased urination, confusion, drowsiness, flushing, rapid breathing, or fruity breath odor.
Smoking while using this medicine may increase your risk of stroke, heart attack, blood clots, high blood pressure, or other diseases of the heart and blood vessels.
For women: do not use this medicine if you are pregnant.
This medicine may affect your blood sugar. Check blood sugar levels closely and ask your doctor before adjusting the dose of your diabetes medicine.
Exposure to the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths may make these patches darker. Use a sunscreen or protective clothing if you must be outside for a prolonged period.
