    Mitaban (Amitraz) belongs to a class of medications known as mono – amine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

    Mitaban (Amitraz) Dip Concentrate (25 ml bottle) contains 50mg/ml (Vet) and is available for use in the case of dogs only and Mitaban (Amitraz) Dip Concentrate 12.5 % (6ml bottle) contains 12.5% mg/ml and is available for use in the case of dogs and cats.

    You must consult the veterinarian for more information pertaining to the use of Mitaban (Amitraz).
  • How To Use Mitaban

    It is necessary that you consult the veterinarian pertaining to information on dosages of Mitaban (Amitraz) for your pet(s). In severe cases of infestation a second treatment is recommended 7 – 10 days after the initial treatment has been administered.

    A complete clipping of your pet's coat is recommended, for the skin to come in maximum contact with Mitaban (Amitraz).
  • Mitaban - Side Effects

    While your pet(s) are on an ongoing course of Mitaban (Amitraz) if you notice any of the symptoms listed below, or any other symptoms which may seem severe or persistent, you must contact the veterinarian.

    Sometimes, Mitaban (Amitraz) may cause your pet(s) to experience short term sleepiness (in treated animals), skin rashes, increased urination, personality changes, an increased appetite and hyper excitability.
    Furthermore, Mitaban (Amitraz) may cause your pet(s) to experience vomiting, diarrhea, an itching sensation, edema and various other dermatological complications.
  • Mitaban - Interactions

    Inform the veterinarian if your pet(s) are on a course of treatment with MAOIs or are diabetic before you start a course of this treatment.

    You must be sure to inform the veterinarian or pharmacist of any other medications, besides Mitaban (Amitraz) that you give your pet(s).
  • Mitaban - Overdose

    If an overdose of Mitaban (Amitraz) has been administered, contact the veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.
  • Mitaban Notes

    Mitaban (Amitraz) is only to be administered to animals and not to human beings.
    The veterinarian must administer this medication to dogs only. Mitaban (Amitraz) is not meant to be used in the case of cats and most importantly, the animal should be stress free for at least 24 hours after treatment.

    Mitaban (Amitraz) is used in the effective treatment of generalized demodectic mange in dogs, by veterinarians.
  • Mitaban - Storage

    Keep Mitaban (Amitraz) tightly closed, in the container it came in and be sure to keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Store this medication at room temperature (59 – 86 degrees F or 15 – 30 degrees C) and away from excess heat, light, frost and moisture.
    Do not store Mitaban (Amitraz) in the bathroom and be sure to throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
  • Mitaban Precaution

    It is necessary that Mitaban (Amitraz) not be used in the case of dogs that are pregnant, nursing, have had a history of diabetes or who are still puppies and haven’t matured into full – grown dogs.
